The scope of care

What mental health treatment covers

The National Institute of Mental Health organizes mental health conditions into several main categories, each with evidence-based psychotherapy options shown to help. These span mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, attention issues, grief, and substance-use concerns.

Long waits to get a Medi-Cal therapist, often biweekly or monthly, are the most common barrier we hear on intake calls. Weekly sessions when clinically appropriate are the standard at Eye Cue Mental Health, not a premium add-on. We use CBT, psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and EMDR. We don't offer medication management, inpatient care, or medication-assisted treatment.

What we treat

Conditions we treat at Eye Cue Mental Health

Each condition below links to its own page. These are the core mental health conditions our team treats through individual psychotherapy and, where appropriate, EMDR therapy. If you want a real therapist you can keep, one who stays with you through insurance changes and across modalities, that's the practice we've built.

Anxiety therapy

Anxiety disorder and panic attacks disrupt daily life, sleep, and decision-making. CBT and evidence-based practices help people recognize thought patterns and reduce anxiety's hold.

Depression therapy

Major depressive disorder affects energy, motivation, and concentration. Individual therapy gives you a space to work through what's underneath, not just manage symptoms week to week.

Learn more

Trauma therapy

Trauma-related concerns surface after accidents, childhood experiences, or abuse. Trauma-informed care with a clinician who stays with you over time makes a real difference.

Learn more

PTSD treatment

Post-traumatic stress disorder involves re-experiencing, avoidance, and hypervigilance. We offer EMDR therapy for PTSD through Medi-Cal, which is uncommon in this market.

Learn more

Grief counseling

Bereavement doesn't follow a schedule. Our clinicians work with people processing the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or other significant loss.

Learn more

ADHD therapy for adults

Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in adults often shows up as chronic disorganization and relationship strain. We also offer preliminary narrative assessments for ADHD concerns.

Learn more

Substance-abuse counseling

Our team includes a clinician who focuses on substance abuse and addiction support for adults working on long-term sobriety. This is individual counseling, not medication-assisted treatment or a detox program.

When to reach out

How to know if it's time to reach out

Per MedlinePlus, mental health conditions are diagnosable and treatable, and most people wait longer than is helpful before they start. These five patterns come up in almost every first call we take.

  1. Something has been off for weeks, not days.

A rough week is normal. When anxiety, low mood, or difficulty coping stretches beyond a few weeks, that pattern is worth taking seriously.

  2. It's affecting work, relationships, or sleep.

When daily functioning takes a hit across multiple areas, that's a meaningful signal to act on.

  3. Pushing through hasn't shifted it.

Exercise, talking to friends, and other coping strategies are useful. When they stop moving the needle, professional support becomes the next logical step.

  4. You have an insurance event or a new window to act.

Many people call when Medi-Cal coverage becomes active or insurance changes. Call us, tell us your plan, and we go from there.

  5. Someone close to you is concerned.

When the people in your life are naming what you're experiencing before you are, that outside signal is worth weighing.

Our model of care

What treatment looks like here (and what it doesn't)

We run an outpatient psychotherapy practice. In our 8 years in Cerritos, 3 things come up in nearly every first call. Here are the direct answers.

Treatment length is based on your medical necessity. No algorithm sequences you to a different level of care. No session quota forces a premature end.

We're a psychotherapy practice. Medication management, inpatient care, and addiction-specialty medical treatment aren't us. We say so when you call, and we point you to who does that well.

EMDR and coverage

EMDR, Medi-Cal, and what that means for you

EMDR is one of the most effective evidence-based approaches for trauma and PTSD. Most EMDR clinicians charge cash-pay rates of $250 to $300 per hour. We offer EMDR through Medi-Cal and other accepted plans at our Cerritos clinic.

Our EMDR-trained clinician offers EMDR through your insurance. Coverage depends on your plan and medical necessity. We verify that before you start.

Why Eye Cue

Why people in Cerritos choose Eye Cue Mental Health

The same therapist, in person or by video

Switch between in-person sessions at our Cerritos clinic and telehealth therapy across California without changing therapists. Big telehealth platforms can't offer that.

A real private-practice setting

Our office is at 17215 Studebaker Rd., Suite 110, Cerritos, near the 91 and 605. It's a quiet, private setting, not a community-clinic environment.

Premium private-practice care through your insurance

We treat people with Medi-Cal the same way we treat any private-practice client. Weekly sessions when clinically appropriate, not biweekly or monthly because of a plan restriction.

Multilingual care under one roof

Our team delivers psychotherapy in English, Spanish, Farsi, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi. Cultural and language fit matters in therapy more than in most clinical settings.

If the fit is off, you switch within the practice

If a clinician isn't the right match, you can move to another clinician at Eye Cue without starting over. We navigate insurance changes with clients rather than terminating care.

Open every day, including weekends

We're open seven days a week, 8 AM to 10 PM. Most LA-area Medi-Cal mental health clinics are closed weekends. Call 562-860-2891 on Saturday or Sunday and we answer.

Calling for someone else

Looking on behalf of someone in your life

If you're reading this for someone else, a partner, a parent, or an adult child you're worried about, the first call is with us, not them. Tell us what you're seeing.

We'll walk you through what intake looks like and how to bring it up. That way, they don't walk in cold. You don't need to have it all figured out before you call.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about mental health treatment at Eye Cue

Still unsure? Call 562-860-2891 and we will talk it through, no commitment.

We offer outpatient psychotherapy for adults: individual therapy, couples counseling, and family therapy. Our clinicians use CBT, psychodynamic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and EMDR. We don't offer medication management, inpatient programs, or medication-assisted treatment. When those are the right fit, we say so and point you in the right direction.

We do accept Medi-Cal. Plans include Anthem Medi-Cal and Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal (statewide), LA Care and Molina (LA County), Cigna, and Aetna. Whether your specific plan covers the service depends on your plan details and medical necessity, and we verify before you start.

When something has been off for more than a few weeks and it's affecting daily life, work, or relationships, that's a reasonable point to call. You don't need a formal diagnosis. Many people who call us say: "I'm not sure if this counts." That call is exactly what we're here for.

Outpatient mental health care means you attend sessions and return home afterward. Eye Cue Mental Health is an outpatient practice. Inpatient programs involve staying at a facility for acute or crisis-level situations. If someone needs inpatient or crisis support, call 988 or 911.

A broad clinical base supports telehealth therapy for anxiety, depression, and trauma-related conditions. Our clients move between in-person at the Cerritos clinic and telehealth video sessions with the same therapist, based on what fits their schedule.

If a clinician isn't the right fit, you can switch to another clinician within Eye Cue Mental Health. You don't have to start over with a new practice. We'd rather find you the right fit on our team than lose you from care.

No. We navigate insurance changes with clients rather than terminating care. When your plan changes, we check your new coverage before your next session and work through it with you. We don't just drop you mid-treatment because of an insurance event.

We offer EMDR therapy through Medi-Cal and other accepted plans at our Cerritos clinic. Most EMDR clinicians charge cash-pay rates; we don't. Whether your specific plan covers it depends on your plan and medical necessity, and we verify before you start. Call 562-860-2891 to check your coverage.
