The basics

What makes telehealth therapy in California different at Eye Cue?

Telehealth therapy in California is widely available. What is rare is a practice that pairs it with a real physical office. Our telehealth clients use video sessions because it fits their schedule, their commute, or their living situation. As founder Saqib Iqbal, LCSW, puts it: "If you want to see your therapist in person, you can, or you can stay on telehealth. Same therapist either way." Start where you are, and change when life changes.

Clients can move between video and in-person sessions at our Cerritos office without losing their therapist. Many do telehealth most weeks and come in during harder periods, or the reverse. Large telehealth-only platforms cannot offer this because they have no physical office. Our individual therapy sessions keep you with the same clinician across both formats, because the relationship is what makes therapy work.

How it works

How the telehealth-plus-office advantage works

Most people think the choice is telehealth-only convenience or an in-person clinic that will not do video. Eye Cue is built differently.

1

Start telehealth

Book your first session from anywhere in California where our insurance contracts apply. No commute, no parking, no rearranging your schedule.

2

Meet your clinician

You build a real relationship with the same clinician each week, at the cadence your clinician determines is medically right for you.

3

Come in when it helps

The Cerritos office is open 7 days a week, 8 AM to 10 PM. If you want to sit across from your therapist after a hard week, you can. You do not get reassigned.

4

Switch back to video

When life gets busy again, you go back to telehealth. The work continues without interruption, with the same therapist.

5

End when you and your clinician decide

Treatment length is based on your medical necessity. We do not force a discharge because a session counter hit zero.

Why us

Why telehealth therapy in California works better at Eye Cue

Private-practice telehealth on the insurance you already carry, with the same clinician by video or in person.

No algorithm decides your care

Big telehealth services assign a therapist from a pool, and when a session count runs out the relationship ends and you start over. Eye Cue does not operate that way. Treatment length is based on your medical necessity, decided by you and your clinician.

Same therapist, video or office

Switch between the Cerritos office and video without changing therapists. The therapeutic relationship is the part that does the work, so we protect it across both formats.

If the fit is off, we match you again

If you do not connect with your match, we move you to another clinician within the practice. You keep your intake information and do not start over with a new provider outside Eye Cue.

A real multi-clinician team

Eye Cue is a group practice of 11 clinicians and associates, in practice since November 2017. That depth is why we can rematch you on the team instead of sending you back to a waitlist somewhere else.

Weekly sessions when you need them

"Couldn't get weekly sessions, only biweekly was available" is something we hear from people who tried larger platforms first. Session frequency here follows your clinical needs, not a platform quota.

Therapy in your language

Our team delivers sessions in English plus six more languages: Spanish, Farsi, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi. Real fluency over video, not a phone translator.

What it helps with

What conditions Eye Cue treats via telehealth

Our clinical team provides telehealth therapy in California for a range of conditions. This is outpatient psychotherapy, not an inpatient or psychiatric service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.

Anxiety and panic

Generalized anxiety, panic disorder, specific phobia, and worry patterns that interfere with work or relationships. Learn more on our anxiety therapy page.

Depression

Major depressive disorder, adjustment disorder, and persistent low mood, treated through evidence-based approaches including CBT and solution-focused therapy. See our depression therapy page.

Trauma and PTSD

Posttraumatic stress disorder and complex trauma. We offer EMDR where a trained clinician is available; ask our intake team about current availability and insurance coverage.

ADHD

Attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, including preliminary narrative assessments. Full neuropsychological batteries are referred out.

Co-occurring concerns

We support clients managing mental health conditions alongside substance-use concerns. Our practice is outpatient mental health, not a specialized substance-use program; clients who need that level of care are referred appropriately.

Relationship and family stress

Couples counseling and family therapy, including parent-child work and intergenerational patterns. We also offer couples counseling as a sibling service.

Coverage

Who can access telehealth therapy in California through Eye Cue?

Eye Cue holds statewide California telehealth contracts under Anthem Medi-Cal, Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal, Cigna, and Aetna. LA Care and Molina clients are served within LA County. Whether your specific plan covers telehealth therapy depends on your plan and medical necessity, and we verify your benefits before your first session.

The research here is well established. NIMH research on mental health treatments and multiple clinical bodies find that video-delivered psychotherapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person therapy for depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The key variable is therapist fit and therapeutic alliance, not the delivery medium. Severe or acute presentations may require a higher level of care than outpatient telehealth can provide, and we will tell you directly if that appears to be the case.

What clients say about Eye Cue Mental Health

A note from someone we worked with at our Cerritos office.

"This therapist has saved my life. Makes you feel great when you walk out of his office. Saqui will also give you tools to continue your treatment on your own time. Highly recommend him for people all ages."

Good questions

Common questions about telehealth therapy in California

Still unsure? Call 562-860-2891 and we will talk it through, no commitment.

Eye Cue accepts Medi-Cal and holds active contracts with Anthem Medi-Cal, Blue Shield Promise Medi-Cal, LA Care, and Molina. Medi-Cal accounts for approximately 70% of our current caseload. Whether your specific plan covers telehealth therapy depends on your plan and medical necessity; we verify your benefits before your first session. Call 562-860-2891 and tell us your specific plan to confirm before you book.

For most conditions and most people, the research supports comparable outcomes. The American Psychological Association's guidance on telehealth confirms that video therapy produces comparable outcomes to in-person sessions when therapeutic alliance is strong. We keep the same therapist across both formats, which protects that alliance regardless of how you connect. For some situations in-person care is the better fit, and we will tell you if that is the case.

We work with you to figure out options rather than simply ending care. We do not drop clients the way larger platforms do when a plan changes. If you are moving to a plan we do not hold a contract with, we will discuss next steps with you directly.

Call 562-860-2891 during our 8 AM to 10 PM hours, seven days a week. Intake is handled by phone. We match you to a clinician based on your needs, language preference, and insurance, and get you into the schedule.

Treatment length is based on medical necessity as determined by your clinician, not by a session counter. We discuss authorization and any coverage limits with you directly so there are no surprises. We also navigate insurance changes with clients rather than terminating care.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is offered where a trained clinician is available and can be delivered via telehealth for eligible clients. Whether your specific plan covers EMDR depends on your plan and medical necessity; we verify your benefits before your first session. Ask about EMDR availability and your coverage specifically when you call.
